Show Thursday, February 21, 1980 Page 10 History In The Making About 20 concerned residents resi-dents turned out for last Friday's general membership member-ship meeting of the Park City Historical Society to discuss goals for the coming year. Society president Pat Smith said officers were elected, resulting in the reappointment reappoint-ment of herself as president, Melbourne Armstrong as vice president, Harry Reed as treasurer, and Ginny Pinder as secretary. Discussed at the meeting was the formation of the public record, which will be a cooperative effort with local senior citizens who will identify photographs and artifacts to create a permanent per-manent log of Park City history. Ms. Smith said Melbourne Armstrong has once again offered his barn west of the golf course for the annual fundraising golf tournament. Last year, the barn was used for a party after the golf tournament, and featured a bluegrass band that entertained enter-tained hundreds of society enthusiasts. Introduced at the meeting were grants consultant Cindy Vail and historic architect Larry Jones of the Utah State Historical Society. The pair outlined the goals of the grant program being offered to Main Street property owners for facade restoration. They noted the first year phase of the program would include survey sur-vey and planning, with the second year phase including acquisition and implementation implementa-tion of the restoration. Ms. Smith said to date eight applications have been received re-ceived from the Main Street historic district.
