In order to go they had to have completed a minimum of 19of their 21assignments. As we buzzed around the rink some skaters were very good, the teachers included; and some were just learning. Regardless, doing this math made us all laugh. Hale, a native of Salt Lake City also wrote "Princess Academy" and "The Goose Girl" for young adult readers. read-ers. This novel reveals more humor and appeals to a slightly older group of women. Yes, this is a definitely a chick book. It is also a Chicks Who Love Jane Austen chick book. I think you get the point here. "Austenland" is dedicated dedi-cated to Colin Firth (who we all know played Mr. Darcy in the BBC version of "Pride and Prejudice") with this humorous message: mes-sage: "You're a really great guy, but I'm married, mar-ried, so I think we should just be friends." Not only is our author Shannon obsessed with Mr. Darcy, but so is the main, character Jane. Jane is an insecure young woman that needs to get a real life. There is just no nice way to put this. She is troubled, deeply troubled. She has searched for Mr. Darcy in every dating relationship re-lationship but somehow no modern male measures up. She inherits a three-week three-week trip to Austenland where she dresses up in her empire-waist gown and becomes Miss Erstwhile. Erst-while. Jane spends time playing whist, embroider ing and other exciting Regency Re-gency era activities at the manor house. Visitors with assigned names such as Miss Heart-wright, Heart-wright, Aunt Saffronia and of course Mr. Nobley also play Austenish roles. Jane begins to confuse reality with play acting and who wouldn't under these conditions? The only mystery that remains is whether she will find true love - in three weeks. Hale enjoys writing this little chick book and we enjoy reading it. It is a break from the serious (and too real) things of life. You don't need to be familiar famil-iar with "Pride and Prejudice" Preju-dice" but it wouldn't hurt to watch it again or for the first time. If you have a Mr. Darcy you may want to test his undying love by asking him to watch it with you. No truer test has yet been devised. RATES DROPPING!
