Show Thursday, February 21, 2008 SPRINGVILLE HERALD is number one concern in Nebo distric School safety In the recent and first issue of Nebo News put 'out by the Nebo School District, there was information infor-mation regarding school ; safety in the district. We : feel it bears repeating in ! the newspaper in case any : citizens did not read the Nebo News. The information informa-tion came from David Gne-' Gne-' iting, Nebo School district . risk manager. '. The information was titled "School safety: Lock- downs and lock-outs." Q. What is a school lock-down? lock-down? ' A. All students and 'teachers are to be in their classrooms with the doors locked and outside entrances entranc-es to the school locked. Students are instructed to stay away from doors and windows. Anyone in the hallways is brought inside rooms; teachers next to re-strooms re-strooms sweep those areas to ensure all students are safely inside a classroom. If the lock-down occurs during recess or lunch and students are outside, they may be evacuated to a site off the school property. Emergency officials are notified. Q.
