SOCIAL EVENTS Cleone and Ferral Ogilvie 50 years ago ' - -v- v ' v " ; L Va - f IV. .3 1 fji " Cleone and Ferral Ogilvie today Fiftieth anniversary Ferral J. and Cleone J. Ogilvie will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 17, 1996 at an open house hosted by their nine children. The open house will be held at the Valley Park Ward, 2603 W. 4700 South, in Kearns from 6 to 9 p.m. No gifts please. Ferral and Cleone were both raised in Salt Lake City and first met when Ferral was the Jones Family paper boy. They say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach and that seemed to be the case with Cleone's strawberry pie. They both graduated from the University of Utah, Ferral in mechanical engineering and Cleone in home economics. . They were married August 19, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Salt Lake for a short while and then moved to Orem. In 1959, they moved to Mapleton and lived there until their retirement years. They presently live in Port Angles, Washington Washing-ton and very much enjoy the beautiful weather and country up there. Cleone has been a homemaker all of her life. Ferral worked for various companies before settling down with Brigham Young University and was there until his retirement in 1982. In 1954 he started a mechanical insulation company that he ran on the side to be able to support the nine children they raised. In 1985 he sold the company to his son, Blaine. Their children are: Janette (Tom) Sprunt, Linda (Rick) Bowers, Robert (Mary) Ogilvie, Anne (Jack) Warner, Gary (Eddie) Ogilvie, Blaine (Judie) Ogilvie, Yvonne (Butch) Krieger, John (Genie) Ogilvie and Paul (Marcie) Ogilvie. Nadir Shah pressed the Mogul's subjects until he learned the stone was hid den in the deposed ruler's turban. Instead of killing the Mogul, Nadir Shah proposed reinstating him. At the ceremony, he asked the Mogul to exchange turbans as a ! mark of their alliance. The Mogul could not refuse. He surrendered his turban and the Kohinoor Diamond. Dia-mond. 0 . V- v- 1 1 i i l i -J Catherine Boman Paul Boman - y w V Anna Mae and Rex Wardle Wardles celebrate Rex and Anna Mae Bird Wardle will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Friday, August 16, 1996. Their children invite family and friends to an open house that evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Spring Creek Second Ward, 350 N. 400 East, Springville, Spring-ville, The-couple request no gifts. , , ;, -.., Rex and Anna Mae were Married August 29, 1946 and have lived in Springville since that time. Rex was born in Fort Duchene. Utah and attended schools in Springville. After world War II, he worked for all the Springville road contractors until retiring. He then went to work for Springville City as a mechanic in the city shop. He has also been driving a tour bus since retirement. He also enjoys sports, traveling and working in his woodshop. Anna Mae was born and raised in Mapleton. She attended schools in Mapleton and Springville and worked for 20 years for various doctors. She enjoys doing ceramics and is a avid quilter. She is employed at Diamond's Greenhouse. Together, they are members of the Brigham Young University Cougar Club and are active in church and civic affairs and in the Springville Senior Citizens. Their children are: Claudia, Manti; Lynn, Puyallup, WA; and Karen, Douglas, GA. Fifty golden years Paul V. and Catherine S. Boman will celebrate the 50th , anniversary of their marriage on Saturday, August 17. Their children are coming together for a family dinner at the Oak Crest Inn. a nhoto shoot and an onen house for familv and friends. The open house will be held on Saturday, August 17, 1996,, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the family home, 509 Brookside Drive, in Springville. Friends and relatives are invited to greet them at that time. Paul and Catherine were wed on November 18, 1946 in the Salt, Lake LDS Temple by Elder Joseph Fielding Smith. Paul was born in Venice, California and received his education in Lewiston, Utah, North Cache High School and Brigham Young University. He served in the Merchant Marines traveling to the South Pacific Area during World War II. He later joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for 21 years with assignments in Hawaii, Texas, Montana, California, Alaska and Utah. He has been active in the LDS Church, Scouting, Kiwanis Club and community affairs. Catherine was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She attended schools in Logan, Utah and Papeete, Tahiti, graduating from Logan High School. She also attended two years at Utah State University. She has been active in Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Musettes Choral Group, L'Originals Social Club, and the LDS Church. During the last six years they have served a Family History Mission in Salt Lake City; been Church Service Missionaries with the Missionary Department and established and been the original directors of the Springville Family History Center. The Boman residence was established in Springville in 1958. Their children are: Susan (Dave) Odegard, Renton, WA; Paul (Sally), Murray, UT; Maile (Chesley) Walker, Orem, UT; Lucy ymu) wnue, kock springs, w i; ivennein Lemse;, apamsn rone, UT; Elizabeth (Dave) Wilkinson, and Kent D., Rock Springs, WY.
