Show Page Twelve - The Springville Herald - April 25, 1990 Thursday night, April 26, is the tenth annual Mr. Springville Pageant sponsored by the Future Homemakers of America. Nine young men will compete to see who will be Mr. Springville Spring-ville 1990. They are: Craig Condie, Ross Allred, Peter Smith, Nathan Hart, Bryce Jensen, Kent Curtis, Reagen Palfreyman, David Gailey and James Nackos. The competition includes a poster contest, legs contest, fashion show, relay race and cake decorating contest that was held earlier this week at Springville Spring-ville High School. Thursday night the boys will compete with an interview, production number, talent and evening wear competition. Come on out and see the best looking men in Springville vie for the Mr. Springville title. The sale is sponsored by the high school, junior high school and middle school orchestras and the high school chorus. A newly-formed parents support group is coordinating the effort. ef-fort. Orchestra Director Samuel Tsugawa said money raised at the sale will help the groups buy uniforms and equipment and upgrade instruments. Tsugawa, who has been in charge of the orchestra program for the past year, said this will be the Jirst of several fund raisers for the groups. Units from the three orchestra groups recently performed per-formed at Springville's annual April Art Ball, an event which Tsugawa said he hopes will "increase community awareness about the quality of the program." Orchestra and chorus students and their parents are asked to drop off items for the sale from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday in front of the city complex on Main Street. Tsugawa said all items should be clean and labeled with the student's name and asking price for the item. Parents are also invited to help with the sale. "We would love it if they could come and stay, even for a little while, to help their students with the sale," Tsugawa said. Refreshments for students working at the sale will be provided by the students' support sup-port group. Tsugawa said all unsold items can be picked up after 2 p.m. Saturday. Those that are not picked up will be donated to Desert Industries. Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska recently honored students who have maintained the highest grade point averages in their colleges. Eric B. During that time, they gathered 64 bags of debris from the highway or one large truckload of junk. The club has agreed to maintain that portion of the highway free from debris for a two-year period.
