Balazs, son of David and Susan Balazs of Spokane, Washington, on Friday, April 27, 1990 in the Manti LDS Temple. A reception will honor the couple Saturday, April 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Springville Museum of Art. An open house will honor them on Saturday, May 5, in Spokane, Washington. Bridal attendants will be Michelle Balazs and Wendy Carr. Attending the groom will be Joshua Balazs, Michael Carr and Daniel Carr. The bride-elect graduated with honors from Springville High School and LDS Seminary. She attended Ricks College and toured in Europe for two summers with the Ricks College American Folk Dancers. She choreo-graphed choreo-graphed and taught several of the dances performed by the group. Julie was 1987 Miss Springville. She is a senior at Brigham Young University majoring in elementary education and has been employed in the audio-visual department. She will be working for CJeneva Rock Products in the summer. " Her fiance graduated from West Valley High School and LDS Seminary in Spokane, Washington where he was active in track and football. He attended Eastern Washington University and served an LDS mission in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He is currently a student stu-dent at Brigham Young University majoring in construction management. He has been employed with NuSkin and will be employed by C&A Construction Company this summer. Both will resume their studies at BYU in the fall. Special guests at the reception will be grandparents of the bride Louise Clyde of Springville, Elmo and Ellen Carr of Provo, and grandmother of the groom, Mariam Ball of Spokane. The couple plans to be married Wednesday, May 2, 1990 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. An open house will be held in their honor at the home of the bride on Thursday, May 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. The newlyweds will make their home in Springville. . Announcement is made by Richard and Mary Van Wagoner of Lehi, of the engagement of their daughter, Lisa, to Mr. Jay Rhett Mortensen, son of Jay and Marilyn Mortensen of Springville. The couple plans to be married on Friday, April 27, 1990 in the Salt Lake Temple. A reception will be held that evening from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the Spring Creek Fifth Ward Church, 880 East 200 North, Springville. The bride-to-be graduated from Lehi High School and LDS Seminary. She also graduated from Utah Valley Community College and Institute where she served as historian. She is employed at Mountain West Hearing and Sears Tele-catalogue. The prospective groom graduated from Springville High School and served an LDS mission in Chile. He is employed at C;ivan Ford in Provo. Matron of Honor will be Janeen Wilson, with maid of honor Abby Canyon and Michelle, Shanna and Jenny VanWagoner, Amanda Gray and Audra Mortensen as bridesmaids. Bestman will be Pat Kendall with Trent, Clint, Kam and Quinn Mortensen attending. The newlyweds will make their home in Springville. Angie Cronquist, Brad Larsen tomarry Angela Cronquist, daughter of Bill and Linda Cronquist of Springville, will marry Brad S. Larsen, son of Karen Larsen of Ogden and the late Darwin Larsen, on Friday, April 27, 1990 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A reception will honor the couple that evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Excelsior Hotel, 101 West 100 North, Provo. The event is open to all friends and relatives. Bridal attendants will be Kipper Cluff, Patricia Cronquist, Andraya Cazier and Laura Faux. Best men will be Kory Larsen, Kurt Larsen, Ryan Jones, Chad Cronquist .and Mike Cronquist. The bride-elect graduated from Springville High School and LDS Seminary. She graduated with an associate degree from Utah Valley Community College where she was also a member of the cheerleading squad. She plans to continue her education majoring in Communications Com-munications with a minor in Music. Her fiance graduated from Weber High School and LDS Seminary. He has been employed with the family Pepsi-Cola business of Ogden and Logan. He is currently co-owner co-owner of the Ogden Hi-Fi Shop. Spring Creek Camp Spring Creek Daughters of Utah Pioneers met Thursday at the home of Ida Fullmer. There were 13 members present. Captain Shurley Ivie took charge and conducted the meeting. Josephine Conover was in charge of the music. Minutes of the March meeting meet-ing were read, which gave the new ticket of officers for the approval of the camp. Norma Haymond gave two short stories from her histories--one about her Grandfather Edward Bunker, who settled Bunkerville, Nevada. It told how his wife Emily Abbott, had no material to make a dress for her new baby, and had to use curtain material, given to her by another sister. The other story ; told of how Bishop Edward Bunker befriended and took care of a Brother McCulley, and asked for pay only that he would pass on the good turn to somebody else. The lesson was given by Allie Beckstead, and was about Places and Landmarks on the pioneer trail. Assignments were made fori hosting the meetings for next! year. Lunch was served by the hostesses.
