The character in the film, a long-legged girl who finds a pair of shoes learns to dance in them, was first drawn by Mrs. Boyer's daughter, Michelle, when she was five years old. Mrs. Boyer then drew the animation to background music played on the organ by Dean Black. Kathryn Black tap danced to the music; then two of the Boyer daughters sang the words, all of which provided the sound for the film strip. Mrs. Boyer also recently won the Filmer of the Year Award in the Utah Fine Arts Club competition. This is the second time she has won the award, winning it last year also.
