Guest speakers were Richard Dotson. left, victim of an incurable nerve degenerative disease, and Wendell Johnson, victim of a spinal injury. Both men are confined to wheel chairs for life. To deal with their problems, they must have a sense of humor, build confidence within themselves, and educate the public as to their needs. These needs include ac- ' ' cess to buildings, schools, living quarters, post offices, etc, Attitudes of the -jj general public would greatly enhance their well being, it was noted. During the six weeks at Lackland Air Force Base,: Texas. the r airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special training in human, relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree 'in applied ap-plied science through the Community College of the Ain Force. The airman will now receive specialized instruction in-struction in the communications-electronics systems field. Julius Charles Hare Shirl I'eltro, chairman of the Springville Rotary's 4-way Test Committee, presented a 4-way test plaque to Roger Williams, manager of Springville ' First Security Bank. The plaques will be distributed to many public offices in Springville, to be displayed. For employees and the public to read and apply in their business and personal dealings. The 4-way test of things we think, say or do. First- Is it the truth? Second- Is it fair to all concerned? Third- Will it build good will and ' better friendships? Fourth- Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Guest speaker at Springville Rotary Club regular meeting was Lt. JD Dalton, of the local police department. Subject of discussion was neighborhood neigh-borhood watch, in essence each neighbor watching the property on both sides of them, behind and in front, reporting any suspicious conditions immediately im-mediately to the Police Department. He indicated that any block of people desiring to engage in this type of activity contact the Police Department and they will assist you in organizing such a group. He also mentioned the new alert telephone no. 911 to report emergencies not to be used for just any call to the department, but use in very definite emergencies. Program Chairman Glen Miner congratulated Lt. Dalton for his informative presentation. Mr. Shelton spoke briefly, then held an in'-,' formal discussion answering questions from club members.
