LaDonna sang a soprano solo, Marenka's Aria from "The Bartered Bride" by Smetana. She earned $100 for her efforts. Kent Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Kay Jensen, Mapleton, was second place winner of $75 with a violin solo, "La Folia." Richard Cameron, son of Mrs. Janice Cameron, placed third and won $50 for his baritone vocal solo. Judges were Elaine Brewster, Thomas Dixon, Dr. Rosalie Pratt, and Joyce Barney. All interested Health Educators are invited to attend. Local youth earns Eagle By Rillene Nielsen Kerry Seamons of Mapleton recently received his Eagle Scout award. Kerry is the son of Max and Ruth Seamons and is a member of the Mapleton Second Ward. An eighth grader at Springville Junior High, Kerry enjoys working with wood and metal in shop. His hobbies are motorcycle riding and electronics. Kerry belongs to troop no. 126 with Scoutmaster Mike Taylor. He has been the second counselor in his deacons quorum and a patrol leader. For his Eagle project he re-taped the backs of over 100 hymn books. 1: v s 1 ' If 5 ; lf : r w 4 A S I " - ; ( 2 The big egg hunt came and went in a couple of minutes with almost 1000 eager kids running all over Memorial Park in search of Easter treats. Easter Bunny Allen Young and Springville Mayor J. Brent Haymond act just as eager as those running after the eggs, but stop to pose briefly with some of the younger kids. The Rotary Club sponsored egg hunt was extremely successful and the weather cooperated with no rain or snow, even if it was a bit nippy. Younger children were allowed to have their mothers along, but the mothers were instructed not to pick up the eggs.
