Show t 1 t V j Jeff Given earns Eagle badge Jefferson Given, son of Madaline Given, has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. An Eagle Court of Honor will be held Sunday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at the Springville Eighth Ward, 355 E. Center, where he will receive the award. Jeff is 15 years old and attends ninth grade at Springville Junior High School. He is a good student and enjoys, seminary, math, and physical education. Jeff works every day after school at the Sage Creek Elementary School. During the summer he works there 32 hours a week. He also delivered the Springville Herald for four years. Active in the LDS Church, he has been president of the deacons quorum and teachers quorum. He has been assistant and senior patrol leader in troop 70. . His scout leaders have been Dorothy Damico, Lucile Hampton, Dutch Hall and his scoutmaster is now Reed Jessee. He wishes to thank these people for helping him to achieve the Eagle rank. Jeff loves sports, especially basketball and skiing. He enjoys being in the out-of-doors, hunting, fishing, camping and riding his horse. Jeff, his sister Jennifer, and his mother moved to Springville five and a half years ago from California and have been in the eighth ward since. Special guests at the Court of Honor will be his grandfather Cushing from Springville; Great -grandfather Johnson from Heber City; cousins and aunts and uncles from Heber and Murray; Grandmother Ireta Cushing from Los Alamitos, Calif.; Aunt Reneta Peterson and counsin Julie from Cyprus, Calif. All friends and acquaintances are invited to share this special evening with him. Mortgage firm meets Tony Evans, vice president and manager of United Mortgage Co., Orem, was among those attending the annual meeting of corporation executives and managers of all branches of the financial institution, recently held in Reno, Nevada. The meeting marks the beginning of the firm's 29th year. Ted Nicothodes, president, conducted the meeting held for the purpose of formulating corporate direction and policy in 1981. Mrs. David P. Boyer, chairman of the board of directors, and various department heads also were in attendance. Dr. Thomas F. Cargill, professor . of economics at the University of Nevada, Reno, was the principal speaker at the day-long meeting and addressed the group on happenings in today's world of finance.
