Community basketball results In the final league night's action, Pioneer Drive Inn defeated Jon's Tip Top, 71 to 49. for the Pioneer five, Johnny Averett and Sam Giles were the big scorers with 14 and 13 points respectively. Lawrence Groneman showed his offensive prowess for Miner's by canning 20 Christensen wins scoring title points; Mike Marshall added 18. For Wolfe's, Gary Christensen was the big gun as has been so often the case. He finished with 26 points. Brad Gardner also had 15 points in the losing effort. Gary supported a 16.5 average through league play. Not far behind and holder of the second and third spots were Mike Shepherd and Kelly Clements, both playing for Steffens Realty, with 16.1 and 15.6 averages respectively. Chris Sorensen of Miner's Auto was fourth in scoring with a 14.6 average and Gale" Meacham was fifth with a 13.7 average playing for Grobben's Pizza Pan. In order to be listed in the Top 15 Leading Scorers all players must have played in at least 70 percent of all league games or a minimum of 10 games. Basketball league for girls to be formed An organizational meeting has been set for the formation of a Girls Softball Program to begin this summer in Springville. The meeting will be held Wednesday, March 7th in the Springville High School Little Theater at 7 p.m. All girls and adults who are interested are urged to attend. Rules and places to play will discussed, and formation of the league will take place. For any further information in-formation call Alan Curtis at 489-5082.
