Sales manager Trained service can handle the job It's a super facility' "It's a super facility!" says Harold Marston of the new Sheldon Hansen Chevrolet dealership. "It's something the Carbon area has needed for a long time a dealership that is spacious and well planned so that we may offer a good selection backed up by good service." Mr. Marston, sales manager at Sheldon Hansen Chevrolet for the past year, bases his assessment of the new dealership on good experience, having marked up 9 years of auto retail sales with some large metropolitan companies. "I'm the man to see if a customer has a problem and I view this as a responsibility to see that he is satisfied. After all, I believe a satisfied customer is our best form of advertisement." ad-vertisement." Marston, who is a native of the area, having graduated from Grand County High School and the College of Eastern Utah before going on to the University of Utah, is married to the former Emily Pagano and they have one child with another on the way. Away from the office he enjoys hobbies and is a director of the Price Jaycees. He said one of his main goals with the new facility was to see that a wide variety of cars and trucks will be on hand for the customer to choose from and to back his sales up with the best service available. Service Manager Tom Marinos supervises the dealership's five mechanics and three helpers. His department does all mechanical work on new cars, as well as repairs on customers' vehicles. Tom himself makes sure the service operation is running smoothly. He schedules all work and assigns the mechanics their jobs. Two hours a day are set aside for emergency work. The service manager makes a point of making sure parts are in stock when possible before beginning the work, to keep customer waiting to a minimum. One of Tom's major responsibilities, he says, is to know his mechanics and their capabilities, so the right job will be assigned to the right man. Tom took mechanic training at Carbon High School; he attended a technical school in Denver; took diesel mechanic training in the Army, and he has worked six years in various garages as a mechanic. He came to Sheldon Hansen Chevrolet last September. Tom, a native of the area, and his wife Laurel live in Carbonville and have one daughter. Computerized parts system speeds service says SH parts manager Elmer Hamilton, parts manager, orders supplies for the entire dealership. All orders, except for the new cars themselves, go through his department: body, mechanical and service supplies, as well as new car accessories. As head of the department, depart-ment, Elmer is in charge of inventory control. He, of course, keeps a complete stock of GM parts on hand, but he also handles parts for all other makes of automobile.
