Show Page Two The SprinRville Herald May .20, 1976 , Musettes Ladies Chorus will open Art City Days Wednesday June 3 night with their annual scholarship Musettes concert The annual Mussetes Spring Concert will be held June 2 in conjunction with Art City Days celebration. The concert will help kick off the celebration on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the Springville High School. , Theme of the concert this year will be "Salute to Old Glory." - A contribution of $2 per family or $1 per person is asked to help raise funds for the Musettes scholarship. Director and chairman of the concert is Alberta Hoover. Jeanine Salisbury is author of the script and costume chair-v man. Pat Jensen is staging director. ' Committee members are Afton Palfreyman, Musettes president; and Anne Forshee, president elect; Kathleen Card, LuDean Rodriguez, Linda Cluff, and Wilda Oakley. Armel Beardall will narrate the program and Oleah Sargent will be the accompanist Social Services sets open house An invitation is extended to citizens of central and southern Utah to visit the new office facilities of LDS Social Services in Orem. Mauray Payne LDS Social Services 199 West Center, Orem 225-7270 Puppet show set today at Park Ro-She rink Students from Westside, Sage Creek and Brookside School willl be entertained this afternoon from 4 to 6 with a puppet show at the Park Ro She roller rink. Proceeds of the show will go toward the piano fund. Cost of the show is 75 cents and will include an afternoon of skating as well as the show. The show will be performed by Karen Christiansen and Ruth Roper of Salt Lake City. They will present "The Bubble Gum Factory," an active puppet show which has appeared extensively in the Salt Lake City area and on television. Karen has studied puppetry at the University of Utah and Ruth has had an interest in puppets since childhood. These girls make their own puppets and have several shows including one shown to a very receptive audience at Garnt School here in April. Every man feels instinctively that all the beautiful sentiments in the world weigh less than a single lovely action. Art show slated at UTech, Provo The Utah Technical College at Provo annual student art show is now underway and will run through May 29, according to Saloman Aranda, Utah Tech art Director. The Utah Tech art faculty includes Mr. Aranda, Alan Riggle, and Kent Goodliffe. Town-night Banquet' The Art City Days Town Night banquet this year will be sponsored by the Lions Club and held Thursday, June 3, in the Memorial Hall. According to Lions Club president Frank Larabee, tickets are now available and will be limited to about' 300 Rodeo queen contest set Friday r The Little Buckaroo Rodeo Iqueen contest will be held Friday, May 21, at 6 p.m. at the Hobble Creek Rodeo Grounds, one-half mile west of Brown's Cafe on the airport road. Jffhe junior queen contest is open to girls ages 13 and under. Springville High School will present the "Hi's" and Stage Band in their pre-tour concert at the high school on Wednesday, May 26, at 7:30 p.m. The Stage Band and "Hi's" -have changed their style of performance this year. This style coupled with new songs should give the public the most interesting program that they have produced. On May 28 the group will leave on tour to. California. They will be performing for members of San Lorenzo and Santa Clara Stakes, Santa Cruz Board Walk, Marriots Great America, San Lorenzo High School, and Arroyo High School. They will also be visiting many places of scenic and historical interests. Accompanying students on the tour will be Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Smith, Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Clark, and Mrs. Marilyn Harding. Har-ding. , , At the door of the pre-tour concert, a small donation is asked. Students of the group will be canvassing the area with tickets if you wish to buy them beforehand.
