On May 15, at the third annual Tour of Dixie held Saturday, Dennis Gee won first place in a 13-mile race against bike racers from in and out of state. Scott Mendenhall took first place in a Jr. High Stock Class race, while brother, Marshall came in fourth in same racfs,. Scott and Marshall Mendenhall, Men-denhall, sons of Dr. and Mrs. John P. Mendenhall both raced to win by several hundred yards. John Mendenhall, also a son of Dr. and Mrs. John Mendenhall, and Ty Whitman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitman, raced in the junior class against a large field of out of state racers, however neither of them placed. This is the second trip down to these races made by the youths. A similar group was at the Tour of Dixie last year in March, all racers placing well. :6Mi miles to place first and fourth respectively. The races 'were held at Bloomington Country Club, about five miles . south of St. George, Utah Dennis Gee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Gee rode the 3.2 mile course three laps in the intermediate race, sprinting ahead the last lap Our polite recognition of another's resemblance to ourselves.
