One of the delightful and mirth provoking events of the week was the "Merry-Go-Round" given at the Third ward amuse ment hall Friday evening when a comic stunt was put on by each of the organizations of the ward. Each stunt seemed just a little more funny than its predecessor and the whole event was a cure for the blues. About 75 ward members of the different organizations organi-zations took part. Mrs. M. M. Thomas was honored hon-ored when -Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. I'. F. Clifford came from Salt Lake to observe her birthday anniversary annivers-ary with her. A delicious hot dinner din-ner was served at two o"clock and following an afternoon of visiting the guest3 returned to their homes. Mrs. Isaac Draper or Genola announces the marriage of her daughter Leona to Frank L. Sor-enson, Sor-enson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Sorenson of Palmyra. The marriage mar-riage was solemnized Wednesday, April 9 in the Salt Lake L. D. . temple. A wedding reception for the many relatives and iriends of the young couple will be held Saturday evening at 8 o'clock in the Genola ward chapel. Mr. and Mrs. Sorenson plan to make their home at Spanish Fork. Miss Leona Draper was given a grocery shower by the members of her 4-H club at Genola during the past week. She received many usetul gifts and the group had a merry time playing games. The Junction was held at the brides home. Jinimie and Kathryn Roese arrived ar-rived Monday from Los Angeles, California to spend a week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Sorenson. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Roese will arrive Saturday to attend the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sorenson. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hone have returned to their home after spending a week end in Menan, Idaho, where they visited their daughter Mrs. Iiernice Clifford and her family. They were accompanied accom-panied by their son Jack and by their daughter, Mrs. Flora Bez-zant, Bez-zant, the latter of Magna. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Click of Santa Monica, Calif., spent part of last week here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hone and other relatives. Mrs. Click is the former Ilene Hone. Mrs. Leah Wheelwright and little lit-tle daughter, Joan, of Boulder City, Nevada, have returned to their homes after a visit of several sev-eral days with Mr, and Mrs. Alma Stone and other relatives and friends. A pleasant family party was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vrernon McKell, the occasion oc-casion being Mr. McKell'a birth anniversary. The guests were the brothers and sisters of Mr. McKell Mc-Kell and their wives and husbands. hus-bands. A bounteous dinner was served at 1:30 the table being decorated with pink carnations. Following dinner the time was spent socially and in listening to the conference radio broadcast. Enjoying the event besides the family of the honoree, were Mr. and Mrs. Eldon McKell and daughter, daugh-ter, Linda of Provo; Mrs. Dewey McKell and daughters, Marie and Cyrus and son Mclburn of Pay-son; Pay-son; Mr. and Mrs. Milo McKell and daughters, Velores and Kay and Mr. and Mrs. Alma Stone and son Dean, of Spanish Fork. |
