Show PAGE SIX PROVO (UTAH) DAILY HERALD, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9, 1941 ORCHESTRA TO LAY 'CONCERTS Besides preparing for the regional re-gional music contest for bands, orchestras, and choruses to be held in Nephi, April 18 and 19, the Provo high school orchestra is rehearsing for a program for the student body on April 23. They will also play for the Far-rer Far-rer junior high on April 24 and the Dixon junior high on April 25, according to Wesley Pearce, instrumental music director. Included in their repertoire will be Beethoven's "1st Symphony," complete, and a modern number, "Norse Legend," by the British composer, Frank Bridge. John Hilgendorff, music instructor in-structor at Farrer and Dixon junior jun-ior high schools, will direct a number at each junior high school concert. Program Enjoyed At Exchange Club A timely and entertaining program pro-gram highlighted the dinner meeting meet-ing of the Provo Exchange club Monday evening at Hotel Roberts. Rob-erts. Thomas Griffith entertained by reading letters received from Great Britain. He discussed the present European war a3 it affects af-fects the English people. Mervin Redden directed the showing of motion pictures of actual war scenes taken during the German invasion of Denmark, Norway and the other conquered countries. William Young Jr. and Thomas Griffith were introduced "as new club members. Lynn Searle was elected vice president to succeed Henry Falkner. Joe Petri wa3 elected to the board of control. President Don M. Inne3 presided. Next meetine of the Exchange club will be April 14 at Hotel Roberts. Obituaries Lavina Spencer PAY-SON Funeral services for Mrs. Lavina Haskell Spencer, 77, who died Sunday from infirmities of age, will be conducted Thursday Thurs-day at 2 p. m. in the First ward L. D. S. chapel, with Bishop Jordan Jor-dan A. Law in charge. Interment will be in Payson City cemetery under the direction of the Deseret mortuary. Friends may call at the family home after 6 p. m. Wednesday on Thursday prior to the services Stanley L. Done PAYSON Stanley Lamson Done, 45, died Saturday in Los Angeles, according to word re ceived here by relatives. He was working as a cook and dropped dead from a heart attack. The body will arrive in Payson Fri day when plans will be made for services. Mr. Done was born in Payson, April 4, 1896, a son of George H. and Lavina Reece Done. He was educated in the Payson schools and was prominent in music as were other members of the fam ily. He was a member of the Payson Silver band until he left for California. He also engaged in business here with his brothers for several years. He married Virginia Vir-ginia Amos and they resided here until seven years ago when they moved to Los Angeles. Surviving are his widow and one daughter Mrs. Marjorie Bring-hurst Bring-hurst of Los Angeles and the following fol-lowing brothers and sisters: Wil-ford Wil-ford J. Done, Mrs. Sarah Tanner and Mrs. Iris .Amo3 of Payson; Bernard C. Done and Hyrum R. rone of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Vina Otteson of Salem, Ralph H. Done of Miami, Florida; Leland S. Done of Livermore, California; J. D. Done of Los Angeles.. Child Health Conference Set The Child Health conference, conducted by the Utah state board of health, will be held Thursday at 9 o'clock at the Community Com-munity church. Wylie Thomas Chapter of Utah Pioneers will meet Thursday Thurs-day April 10 at 2 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Lyle Creer. The history of Mrs. Creer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pleasant J. Bradford Brad-ford will be given. Camp Mt. Flonette will meet the same day at the home of Mrs. Agnes Jackson Davis. The outgoing out-going officers will be honored by a, special program.
