I Mission a ry I s I S h o w e r For Honored" At I F aye Graham Farewell In honor o Lynn Nson. son of Mr. and MrsAndrew Nelson, who is leaving soon for an L.D.S. mission in Canada, the Scandinavian Scandin-avian organization of Provo gave a farewell party at the Nelson home Friday evening. A fine program, under the direction di-rection of A. C. Anderson, was furnished as follows: Short talks, Maurice Jones, E. P. EggerUen, William Norman and Karl Knud-sen; Knud-sen; vocal solo, Mrs. John Stone, accompanied by Mrs. Edith M. Powell; piano solo. Prof. Elmer Nelson; vocal solos, Mrs. Andrew Nelson and William Ksudsen. ac companied by Prof. Nelson; talk I for the missionary. A. B. Fotland; responses, missionary and his father; community singing, led by William Knudsen. A delicious luncheon was served to 46 guests, and a substantial purse was presented to the young man. The refreshment committee comprised: Mrs. A. C. Anderson, Mrs. Andrew Nelson, MLss Rena Pederson and Miss Ardella Anderson. .Honoring Miss Faye Graham, bride-elect, the Misses Norma darrett and Catherine Pardoe gave a shower Saturday afternoon after-noon at the Garrett home. An attractive scrap booklet was made and presented to the honor guest, and a delicious buffet luncheon lunch-eon was served Many beautiful beauti-ful gifts were removed from the large Christmas tree by the bride-to-be. In attendance were: Mrs. Earl Graham, Miss Louise Firmage. Mrs. T. Earl Pardoe, Mrs. Lynn WrLght, Mrs. J. O. Garrett and the Misses Dorothy Durrant, Doris Alder, Neva Strate, Helen Rowe, Mary Hinchcliffe. Happy Hour Dance Club Affair Enjoyed A delightful time was spent by members of the Happy Hour Dancing Danc-ing club at another of their parties par-ties Saturday evening at the Utah State hospital ballroom. Attractive Christmas decorations decora-tions were employed and music was furnished by the Arcadiuns. Delta Theta Chi, national social and cultural sorority, to be held Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock at the Edna Mae Hedquist home. The affair is to be formal, and Miss Hunter is ieing assisted in making plans for the affair by the Misses Veda Hicks and Edna Draper. A delightful de-lightful program is being arranged and Christmas gifts will be exchanged. A "secret si-ster" order is to be installed during dur-ing the evening, this feature being in charge of the Misses Elda Perry and Merle Jones. Herald Rural Carriers At Dinner It - - "ww m . - - - . - Mutual Workers Enjoy Christmas Party A lively house party was held by officers and teachers of the Bonneville ward M. I. A., and j members of the cast of the M I. A. play, "Here Comes Charlie." Friday Fri-day evening at the home of President Presi-dent and Mrs. Clyde Crockett. Games were played and prizes awarded, and Christmas carols were sung. Mrs. Crockett served a delicious luncheon to 30 guests. The rooms were bright with Christmas wreaths and candles. The government should be the last to wail over the forgotten man when tax collectors keep such accurate records of his address. Emil Moore, circulation manager, man-ager, presided, and during the evening presented a wrist-watch to Roy Houston of Payson, first-place first-place winner, who secured 57 new subscriptions to the Herald. Ivan Hall of Spanish Fork, with 21 starts, won second place and was awarded a pen and pencil set. Plans were diycussed for a skating skat-ing party to be held during the Christmas holidays. The table and entertaining rooms were gay with motifs of the Yuletide season. Covers were laid for: Mr. Moore, Roy Houston and Glade Hill of Payson, Le Roy Jacobson. Ivan Hall and Rex Daniels of Spanish Fork, Francis Salisbury. Gail Loveless, Jack Adams and Ralph Jacobs of Orem. Kenneth Rogers of Lindon, Glen Robertson of Pleasant Grove, Calvm Johnson. Bill Leslie and Calvin Brown of Springville. jr Amateur Hour Program Featured Mrs. Ethel Crowther entertained members of Felicia club at a de lightful Christmas party Friday afternoon at her home, with Mrs. Irma Walker and Mrs. Nora Bullock Bul-lock as assisting hostesses. The rooms were beautiful witl; Christmas colors and motifs. A delicious luncheon was served at small and prettily decorated tables. Mrs. Mary Bennett appeared as Major Bowes and conducted an amateur hour program, each member taking part and helping to create a great amount of mer riment. Later, gathered about the i huge tree, the women exchanged lovely Christmas gifts.
