Several parties and showers have' honored the bridal' pair during the past weeks. Mrs. Robert Johnson enter tained 16 of the bride's school friends at her home in Orem. She was assisted by Maria Dean, Mrs. Charles Pulham and Mrs. Jiggs Sanderson. The evening was spent making a bride's book and Barbara was presented with gifts. ; '7 . Mcllrath were co-hostesses at a well-appointed luncheon honoring Barbara and 16 other guests at the Clemments home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. R. L. Moyle entertained 12 guests in her home in Holladay, and the bride's parents are now making plans for a family dinner in their honor when the newlyweds return from their honeymoon. Temple Scene Of Wedding v SPRING LAKE Among recent newlyweds in the Central Utah area" are Mr. and Mrs. James C. Hone (Louise Deuel), whose mar riage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS temple by - Pres.. Er nest E. Dye. A reception was held Dec. 9 in the Spring - Lake LDS ward church, with Golden Menlove as master of ceremonies. The bride wore a wedding gown of white, filmy marquisette cut with scalloped yoke and skirt front. Her lace-edged veil fell from a beaded crown and she carried a bouquet of contrasting shade. The new Mrs. Hone is a daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lee Deuel, Spring Lake, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Ruth Hone of Spanish Fork. Mrs. Lyle ,De St. Jeor was matron ma-tron of honor, with Nedra Bar-nett, Bar-nett, Kenna Deuel, Evelyn Wll- cock and Nelda Cowan as brides maids. Billy Evans was best man. Guests Enjoy Yule Program OREM Members of the Orem Literary club were special guests a: the annual Christmas meeting and social of the Orem Womens club held this week at the Scera lounge. A delightful Christmas program arranged by Mrs. Donald Stubbs was presented, including musical numbers by a trio composed of Dora Prestwich, Carol Watts and Gennial Larsen; story reading by Mrs. Dale Larsen; vocal solos by Mrs. Clyde Weeks accompanied by Mrs. Alene Kofford; humor ous Christmas readings by Car olyn Barlow; song skit, "The Night Before Christmas" by Ruth, JOan and Teddy Hawkins. Mrs. Stubbs, acocmpanied by Mrs. Kofford, led in community sing ing of Christmas carols. The meeting climaxed the an nual welfare project of caring for needy families. Each member brought food, clothing : or toys for the baskets being prepared under the direction of Mrs. Ron ald Adams assisted by Mrs. Jack Cameron as Christmas gifts to an Orem family the club has adopted this year. Special guests for the occasion, in addition to those of the two clubs and those already named, were Mrs. Francis Barlow. Hales, according to announcement of the approaching event made today by parents of the bride-to-be, Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Mendenhall. The benedict-elect's benedict-elect's Barents are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene A. Hales of Spanish Fork. The ceremony will be performed per-formed in the Salt Lake LDS temple, and the young couple will make their home in Spring-ville. Spring-ville. S i Miss Mendenhall, a graduate, of Brigham Young university, re cently complete, a mission for tne LDS church in California. At present she is employed as a teacher in Provo city schools. Mr4 Hales, also a returned missionary, mis-sionary, served in Czechoslovakia. He is a veteran of two years' service in the navy air corps and is currently a student at BYU. Mr. and Mrs. Weston G.
