Shooting Victim Improving In Hughes Hospital SPANISH FORK Rulon Creer, 53v was reported to be "improving" "improv-ing" Saturday at Hughei memorial me-morial hoipltal in Spanish Fork. Mr. Creer was reportedly shot by Frank Ruiz, 50, a .farm employe em-ploye following an altercation Dec. 13. Ruiz was employed by Mr. Creer, farmer and stockman. stock-man. Hospital attaches said Saturday that they believed Mr. Creer to be out of danger. Ruiz -is being held in Utah county Jail in lieu of payment of $4000 bond. He has requested a preliminary hearing hear-ing set for Jan. 11 in Provo city court. Ruiz' faces a charge of "assault with intent to commit murder." as a result of the shooting. School Lunch Probe Asked MURRAY, Utah, Dec. 24 (U.R 1 A. full investigation of the Murray Mur-ray district school lunch program has been requested by Police Chief L. E. Deland. Deland charged that the program pro-gram is not providing food for needy children in the community. He began an investigation of the program after complaints that hungry children were stealing classmates lunches. The police official said that a family of seven children in the district was not admitted to the program without charge. He pointed out that the policy is in direct violation of the federal grant in aid. Inmate Dies In Prison SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 24 (U.R) Utah state prison officials have reported that Jesse L. Lof-tis, Lof-tis, '24, an inmate of the prison for just three weeks, died in the prison hospital yesterday. Warden Alvin O. Severson said that Loftls entered . the prison Dec. 3 to serve a one to 10-year term on a grand larceny conviction. convic-tion. Physicians said that cause of death was congestive heart failure.
