FUhtinr Basketeers Coach Paul Wilson's aggressive, fighting band of basketeers, ap parently unimpressed by Provo's 73-26 victory, over Weber on Wednesday night, tore into the Big Green with everybody they had and gave the Bulldogs a rug ged time of it in the first half. ' ' Bulldogs were as cold in the first half Friday night as they were warm against Weber on Wednesday night. If it hadnt been for their vaunted defense and the fact that Springville was paving a rather tough time on their shots it might have been a lot tougher for the Bulldogs. Gary Hoover and Boyd Framp ton led the Bulldogs to victory with 16 and 14 points, respect ively. Paul Gottfredson was top scorer for Sprnigville with 10 points. Rough Game It was a mug i and tumble game with 20 personal fouls be ing called on each team. Bob Collins of Provo and Gottfredson were both forced from the game by five personal fouls. North Summit defeated the Wildcats on foul pitches. Both teams connected for the same number of field goals 16, apiece but the winers hit 10 free throws, while the Wildcats were able to drop only seven through the net. North Summit grabbed a 14-9 first quarter lead, but BY high, led by Mick Eggertson, who fired '7 ' through the hoop, went out in front 19-18 at halftime. From then on. It was nip-and-tuck with North Summit finally squeezing throueh wth a victory. Take Early Lead Taking an early lead, Tooele was out in front all the way as the Buffaloes dcfpt.eH ' Grove. Matekel led the Buffaloes to victory with 13 points, while AllreH rnd . .. Allred were hig for the Vikings with nine each. A tight defense gave American Fork its victory over Bingham as Max Pierce led the way with ighf ooints. Ballamis was high for Bingham with six points. The came was close during the first half, but American Fork cut loose in the second half to win going away. Coach Gus Black's Spanish Fork team built up an early lead aeainst Moroni and then remained remain-ed out in front all the way as M Johnson led the victory march wr.rt 14 points.
