' Up Dry Fork, down by McCoy Flats, in the bollies near Leidy Peak, or just walking the canal ' paths through town. For a certain cer-tain segment of Vernal's population, popu-lation, walking the dog is the primary outdoor recreational activity. And any dog owner will verify that "going for a walk" is the peak experience for their petanimal companion whatever. A cross town drive followed by an hour-long stroll is a big vacation for them. One friend's border collie would go ballistic with joy every time she heard "let's take the dog for a walk." So they started spelling spell-ing out the words. That's how their border collie col-lie learned how to spell. The trip to the trailhead is part of the adventure, with the window rolled part way down and a wet nose twitching, picking pick-ing up whatever is in the air. For us, the whining starts about one block away from home, and continues until we reach our destination. When they pile from the car, they start exploring the area restlessly, and continue this activity until we return to the Will the USU-UBATC building site be in the city or the county? To register reg-ister to vote in Utah you must be a citizen of the United States, have resided in Utah for 30 days before the election, and be at least 18 years old on or before the election. Mail-in registration forms are available online, at post offices, of-fices, most banks, and at the Uintah County Clerk-Auditor's Office, located at 147 East Main. These must be postmarked by Oct. 9. You may also register in person at the county clerk-auditor's office through Oct. 23 during dur-ing regular business hours. The office will be open for extended hours on Oct. 20 and 23, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. After registering, you will receive a voter ID card as confirmation confir-mation that will provide information infor-mation regarding your precinct and where to go to vote. On election elec-tion day, you will need to bring a valid form of photo identification identi-fication or proof of residence if you did not already provide a copy with your registration. Valid photo IDs include student ID, driver's license, or a state ID card. Proof of residence includes in-cludes a power bill, phone bill, or vehicle registration that shows your current address. You only need to register once to be eligible to vote in all elections. However, if your name or address has changed, you will need to reregister to change your information. This election is a general election, meaning that everyone can vote regardless of political party affiliation. Exclamation points at the end of every sentence! It is important, of course, that the dogs be well trained enough that they don't harass wildlife, and will likewise not bother any people they meet. One mountain climb we took was severely wrecked by the fact that another climber we bumped into on top had a threatening dog, whose growling growl-ing and general unpleasantness spoiled the view. The southern site property could be disconnected from the city, but that is a process which wo,uld have to go through the court, whereas annexation into the city is an administrative process and could be handled more easily, should it be decided decid-ed to bring it all into the city. If the property owners along 1500 West that are already receiving receiv-ing or capable of receiving municipal services were to be included in a city annexation senator, a state representative, a U.S. senator, a U.S. representative, representa-tive, and a member to the state board of education. A Utah Constitutional Con-stitutional Amendment concerning con-cerning property tax exemption will also be on the ballot. It is also illegal to walk your dogs away from the roads, off-leash in Dinosaur National Monument, as well as in Steinaker and Red Fleet State Parks. But most other areas are wide open. Walking your dog is the healthiest thing in the world for the dog, as well as for you. Your petanimal companion whatever will be emotionally rejuvenated by escaping to a new area, as well as run some fat off their bones. Some of the best, non-motorized areas for walking dogs include: Dry Fork Flume Trail, starting at the bottom bridge and going as far as you like. In spring and summer, there's lots of water to drink.
