Gold Medal mentors receive thanks for a job well done Gold Medal School project completes another year TriCounty Health Department reports another successful year with the Gold Medal School Program. Joseph Shaffer, director of TriCounty Health Department congratulates the schools for achieving the levels of success they desired in the Gold Medal School Program: Tabiona and Lapoint elementaries both achieved the Platinum level. Neola and Myton elementaries both achieved Silver Status, and Roosevelt Middle School achieved the Bronze level. Shaffer thanked the Gold Medal School mentors for a job well done in the Gold Medal School Program stemming from their walking weekly with the students of each of these schools. The mentors for the Gold Medal School program include Becky Lefler, Tabiona Elementary; Eleasha Harvey, Lapoint Elementary; Marshelle Justice, Neola Elementary and Roosevelt Middle School; Two men arrested for stealing vehicle On Sunday, June 4, Jose Diaz took a vehicle from his employer and drove it to Ogden without the employer's permission permis-sion or knowledge. Diaz took his friend, Justin Bromley, with him, and both drove the vehicle, knowing they weren't authorized to have a vehicle. Diaz and Bromley took the vehicle back and left it at the business when they returned from Ogden on Monday, June 5. Sgt. Mark Watkins of the Naples Police Department was investigating the case. Operating with only Jose Diaz's name Sgt. Watkins found where Diaz was living. Contact with Justin Bromley at the Obituaries Peggy Miller Peggy Miller, of Vernal, passed away June 8, 2006. She was born Sept. 22, 1948 to James and Genelle Harrell. Peggy received her GED at the age of 42 and enjoyed 15 years of sobriety. Peggy enjoyed gardening with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, crafts and embroidering. Peggy is survived by her mother Genelle Harrel; husband, hus-band, Jack Miller, Sr., sons Jackie Leroy (Carmen) Miller, and Frank Mutz; daughters Tammy Genelle Krammer and Nicola (Paul) Freestone; brothers broth-ers Gerald (Margaret) Harrell and Amy Johnson, Myton Elementary and Roosevelt Middle School. Without these mentors and the support of the principal and staff at each of these schools the Gold Medal School Program could not be a success. The Gold Medal School Initiative is an established, successful program with more than 100 Utah elementary schools currently participating. participat-ing. These schools have provided provid-ed their students with an atmosphere atmo-sphere that supports academic success by improving policies and environments that support good nutrition and physical activity. Schools are given access to a mentor, TriCounty Health Department, and the expertise of the Gold Medal School Team at the Utah Department of Health to assist them through the initiatives during the entire school year. Watkins continued his investigation and found Diaz to be at Bromley's residence. Jose Diaz was arrested and booked into the Uintah County Jail on a third degree felony for unlawful unlaw-ful control of a vehicle. Justin Bromley was also arrested and booked into the Uintah County Jail on a third degree felony for unlawful control of a vehicle and an additional third degree felony for obstruction of justice. jus-tice. The Mesa Airlines service ser-vice is scheduled to start July 2, pending the approval of the FAA. Merrell stated that this is a major step in the certification process. According to Merrell, the persons chosen to attend the class was an effort to involve persons working at the airport and emergency personnel.
