Show .Vernal Express. 42 nd Street comes to Uintah High ..'At. B6 Wednesday, March 9. ZOOS "Get out your tap shoes, Francis! Julian Marsh is doing a show!" Thus begins the musical musi-cal "42nd Street." set in New York City in the early 1930s. Broadway is reeling from the stock market crash and its most well-known director, Julian Marsh (played by Jesse Durant), is looking for the perfect per-fect musical to put him back on top. The song and dance extravaganza Pretty Lady will do just that. A musical about a musical, this show is filled with glitz, glitter, comedy and romance. Production numbers num-bers with old favorites such as "We're in the Money," "Lullaby of Broadway," and, of course, "42nd Street" will keep your feet tapping long after the curtain cur-tain closes. However, even Julian Marsh cannot pull off a show without a star: enter Dorothy Brock (Sabrina Jackman), a prima donna past her prime, but known for her singing. Backed by her "sugar daddy," Abner Dillon (Jacob Bryson), who is putting out the money for the show, she holds the power to get almost everything, including includ-ing the true love of her life, Pat Denning (Chris Riley). Into the chaos of Broadway comes the young and naive Peggy Sawyer (Katie Wackowski), a talented and sweet small-town girl. She is quickly befriended by the bubbly chorus girls: Annie (Cammie Merkley), Phyllis (Jessica Jennings), Lorraine (Jenny Christiansen); the writers: Maggie Jones (Emily Strong) and Bert Barry (Dale Kynaston); and Billy Lawlor himself (J.C. Lopez), the cocky but handsome juvenile lead who woos and wows the girls with his wonderful singing and dancing. The rest of the chorus girls, headed by Diane (Chelsea Mott), Gladys (Sarah Richards), and Ethel (Jennifer Daniels), are kept busy and in line by the tough and strict dance director, Andee Lee (Michelle Baker), and stage manager, Mac (Mitch Bristol, the actual high school stage manager). The rest of the cast, performing perform-ing number after exciting number num-ber with energy and enthusiasm, enthusi-asm, includes: Rachel Simmons, Anne Shakespeare, Nashelle Pearson, Maelanie Brady, McKenna Wheeler, Stacia Dickson, Adam Francisco, Sean Peterson, Eric Caldwell, KC Hunting, James Harrison, Alex Sullivan, Jeff Bassett, Elizabeth Snow, Krystal Woods, Megan Allred, Katie Weber, Jackie Hughes, Katie Palmer, V 0 II d?3 Cm y 'rr'ik J ft- v MS I Cast of 42nd Street sing "We're in the Money."
