Pictures of one year old babies will be taken free of charge at Aspen Photo, Thome Studio, Evan Hall and Outwest Photography and printed in the Vernal Express. Pictures should be taken one week prior to baby's birthday. The average car uses 1.6 ounces of gas idling for one minute. Nashes have visitors Betta Nash's mother, Josephine Davenport, and sister, Joan Davenport, Daven-port, both of Bismarck, North Dakota, arrived mid-December to enjoy the Christmas season with Mark and Betta Bet-ta Nash and family. Brett Reynolds was honored on his 11th birthday, Dec. 16 by a slumber party which was attended by several of his friends, and hosted by his mother, Mrs. Ken Reynolds. The group enjoyed movies and treats. Our area was saddened by the sudden sud-den death of Fredie Atwood Dec. 21 as a result of an accident in Wyoming. He is the son of Mary Atwood and the late Fred Atwood. Naples First Ward held their annual Christmas party Dec. 20 in the Naples cultural hall. Dinner; a program, and a visit from Santa Claus was enjoyed by a large crowd. Evan and Holly Baker spend the Christmas weekend in Provo with Holly's Hol-ly's parents. The Wilford Olsen family held their annual family Christmas party at the home of their parents, Wilford and Vera Olson on Friday, Dec. 23. Thirty-six Thirty-six family members were in attendance, atten-dance, including Blaine and Joan Hor-rocks Hor-rocks and family of Neola. Friends and neighbors of Curtis and Marjorie Lamb extend their sympathy symp-athy to them because of the sudden death of Marjorie's mother, Berneice Mitchel, of Altamont on Dec. 16. Lee and Marilyn Broadbent and son Anthony of Holden, Utah came to spend the Christmas holdiays with her parents, Glen and Toni Reynolds. Also at home for Christmas was Kirk Reynolds, a student at the Utah Trade Tech in Provo. Ken and Caryl Ann Seastrand of Provo came Saturday to spend the Christmas holidays with her parents, Norman and Janna Haslem. Among the students home from their various colleges and schools are Mar-cia Mar-cia Southam, Rod Southam, Sandi Lamb, Michelle Mott, Karen Manwar-ing Manwar-ing and Kirk Reynolds. Spending the Christmas holidays with the Willis Southams were Mark and Denna Orullian of Salt Lake City. Willis and Carol entertained their family at dinner on Christmas day. Those present were Mark and Denna Orullian, Rod Southam of Ogden, Glendon and Shanna Workman and Cullin; Mike and Connie Haslem and Kathy and Christine; and Teresa Liebhardt and son Ben. Bruce and Annette Gardiner of Provo Pro-vo came to spend Christmas with their parents, the Denny Gardiners and the Carl Oldakers. Following these car care tips should be a "winterizing" "win-terizing" routine that you follow faithfully each year. Here are some important points to remember: Inspect, test and, if necessary, replace the battery. bat-tery. Have terminals, cables and battery itself cleaned. Mount snow tires and have the wheels balanced. The cooling system should be drained and flushed and new anti-freeze, such as Prestone Anti-Freeze and Coolant, added. It should be part of the regular winter win-ter checkup since heavy summer use can play havoc with anti-freeze levels. Hoses A few hours of care can spell a more carefree winter for you and your car. and connections should be inspected, too. They can often be winter trouble spots. Inspect the ' brakes, master cylinder and brake lines for leaks. Check the exhaust system sys-tem for damage and leaks. Lubricate the chassis, change the oil and the oil filter. Be sure to use the correct seasonal grade of motor oil. Now's the time to tune the engine for the heavy demands of winter. Don't forget the windshield. wind-shield. Replace wipers if they are worn. Check washer wash-er and defroster and be sure washer is filled with an anti freeze cleaning solution. If you don't have a rear window defroster, consider con-sider adding one. It's a great asset.
