Scholarship and financial aid meeting Jan. 10 A meeting providing scholarship and financial aid information for Uintah Uin-tah High School seniors and their parents will be held Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school A.V.A. room. Information relating to college admissions, ad-missions, including deadlines and scholarships will be given. Financial aid available will also be discussed. Afterwards everyone met at Ronna Repac's home for revealing of secret sisters, gift exchange ex-change and refreshments keeping with the season. One of the chapter's service projects for the year was providing a Christmas tree, decorations, gifts and food for a needy family so they could enjoy the holidays. Because of the New Year's holiday, the next meeting will be set ahead one week to Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Becky Rawls. Naples Ada Openshaw Phone 789-3145 Eileen Yano receives award Delia Wooley received word from her daughter, Eileen Yano, of Salt Lake City that she had just returned from Denver, Colo., where she received receiv-ed the Employee of the Year award, a large plaque. Eileen works for Data Documents who have about 2,200 employees. She also received a cash award of $2,000 for superior performance perfor-mance with the company. Betta Nash entertained at a luncheon lun-cheon honoring Annette Reynolds on her birthday Dec. 27. Ten ladies were present. Charles and Cathy Willard and five children of Layton spent New Year's holiday with Cathy's parents, Keith and Carma Smuin. Arlyn Baker, a registered nurse at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, spent the Christmas vacation with her parents, Arnold and Vena Baker, her sister Kay, and brothers, Evan, Dean and Brett. Jack and Trudy Boren and two children, Jackie Jo and Cody, spent two weeks in Phoenix, Ariz., with Jack's parents, Jack and Reva Boren. Spending the New Year holiday home with their parents were LeeAnn White, Paul Merrell, Michelle Mott and Glenn White. Alan and Shari Calder and Dave and Karen Cook spent Monday skiing at the Sun Dance ski resort. Dan and Brenda Olsen entertained family members at a New Year's Eve dinner. Present besides their family were Charles and Hazel Olsen, Wade and Ronda Olsen and two children, Jason and Elisa, Rick and Doris Salazar and daughter, Brooke. Kerry and Jody Gardiner are the parents of a baby boy born Dec. 30 in the Roosevelt hospital. Grandparents are Ferris and Grace Gardiner and great grandparents are Melvin Gardiner Gar-diner and Ralph and Nellie Southam. Curtis Lamb's father, Glendon Lamb of Lapoint, passed away Sunday after a long illness. Norman, Janna and Brad Haslem went to Provo Sunday evening where they spent the evening with Ken and Caryl Ann Seastrand. Norman and Brad spent Monday on the ski slopes at Sun Dance and they all returned home Monday evening. Lee and Marilyn Broadbent and son returned to their home in Holden Monday Mon-day after spending the holidays with her parents, Glen and Toni Reynolds, and other family members and friends. Golden age activities By Maxine Clark Our building was painted last week and it looks very nice. We appreciate how nice our building is kept. The bingo game was held on Tuesday. Tues-day. Ada Murray was winner for the week with six games. In second place was Ann Bradley with five games. Eight ladies attended. The New Year's dinner was held Friday with a large crowd attending. The New Year's dance was held Friday Fri-day night and was very outstanding. Pot luck lunch was enjoyed by all. A large crowd attended and all report it to be a very good dance. We hope all will attend our activities this coming year. Escorts and introductions for past Randlett Ivy Chandler Phone 545-2439 Chandlers return Bill and Ivy Chandler returned home' for Christmas after spending ten days with their daughter, Beatrice Davis, of Warland, Wyo. They also spent two weeks with Ivy's sister near Iowa City, Ci-ty, Iowa. The Chandlers had Thanksgiving dinner with Ivy's sister, Vera Weidner, and their family of six. Four of them were home for the holidays. Chris Sopp had his mother and father pay him a visit before Christmas. They are from Montclair, Calif. ; The Neilsons of Upalco visited Grant and Jerry Brough last wek. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Wickham of Randlett went to Boise, Idaho to visit their daughter, Cindy Digitz. Another daughter, Julie Zell, came from Arizona to take them to Idaho. Shon Wickham and his girl friend spent Christmas with them. Shon is in the Air Force in Washington. Barry Deans' mother spent two weeks with her son. Before Christmas Elva Dean cooked Christmas dinner for her folks, Bill and Ivy Chandler.' Bill Chandler won a turkey at one of the drawings in Roosevelt. He also cooked Christmas dinner on the 26th for all his family. There were Elva, Barry Dean, part of her family, also Jim Dean and three girls, Earnie and Joann and family, and Tom and Leah of Salt Lake City. They had a wonderful wonder-ful day. Larry Dudley and family spent some time with his folks, Mr. and Mrs, Harold Dudley before Christmas. After the installation and regular meeting was over, a reception for the new honor queen was held downstairs in the Masonic Temple. Larry is from Montrose, Colo. Harold Ray Dudley, Larry and Fay's son, is going to BYU in Provo. He also spent some time with his grandparents, Harold and Lula Dudley. Grant and Jerry Brough attended the dance in Roosevelt last week. They also attended the dance in Vernal at the Golden Age Center last week. Quint Pickup of Price spent a few days at his brother's, LaRue's, place helping him with the cows. Reah and Milton Stoddard of Salt Lake City spent New Year's with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Pickup of Randlett. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Rogers of Randlett spent Christmas day with their daughter, Denis and Wade Farn-sworth Farn-sworth of Gusher. The Randlett Ward had a New Year's Eve party. They also had a Christmas party and supper. There was a real good turn out. Elva Dean has gone back to work in Vernal. She is working at the Uintah Care Center. Craig McKee of Long Beach, Calif., is spending ten days with his mother, Mrs. Barry Dean. Craig has been to Park City three times skiing the past week. Callie Derrell Jenkins went one time and Carl and Cindy McKee went once. They are from Vernal. Jim Chandler of Randlett went skiing ski-ing last Sunday with Craig McKee. Injured in the accident were Linda Goodrich and Jeanie Wallace. Linda received multiple injuries including in-cluding a fractured arm, skull and collar col-lar bone. Jeanie had cuts requiring sutures. Phyllis and Michael Hall, Salt Lake City, enjoyed Christmas day and part of the holidays in Tridell with the DeVon McKee family. The Young Married's enjoyed Wednesday and Thursday nights playing play-ing volleyball in the Tridell cultural hall. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Goodrich returned Thursday from Blackfoot, Idaho where they spent the Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Reid Goodrich and family. Fern Dennis, Orem, enjoyed Christmas day and part of the holidays with her daughter, Sharon McKee and the Rondall McKee family. All the snow has provided lots of fun , for the young people of our area as they take their tubes to Try Out Hill and spend their days tubing down the slopes. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Merrell and four sons, Reno, Nev., left Wednesday for their home after spending a few days at the Velora Merrell home. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Carmickle have moved into the home formerly occupied by Sheila and Terry Young. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Morrill, Elko, Nev., and daughter, Linda Black, Bountiful, visited Mr. and Mrs. Davis Morrill Christmas day. June and Ted Wilckens and daughters of Roosevelt had Christmas dinner with Davis and Thelma Morrill. A Cub Scouts pack meeting was held Friday night in the cultural hall. Highlites include: Becky Thome, Irene Jones, Andria Amodt, Ned Smuin, Steve Gober and Trent Nelson. New Acapella members are Jennifer Jen-nifer Amodt, Kirsten Hanchett, Robin Langely, Sheila Mustain, Debbie Wright, Janeall Cooper, Denise Hanchett, Han-chett, Fawn Kremin, Kenny Amaya and Richard Rust. Acapella deals mainly with group singing while Highlites concentrates more on popular hits and choreography. The school paper will be coming out with its first edition soon. The paper will come out every 2-3 weeks, depending depen-ding on how the school accepts it. The purpose of the paper is to help keep the students informed and express views to the studentbody. A contest will be held to find a name for the paper. The Spanish Club will be sponsoring bake sales and hopefully a dance to raise enough money for a trip to Mexico Mex-ico in May. Although May seems a long way off, it will take a lot of hard work and time before these students have enough money for their trip. Officers were chosen for girls' athletics. By a unanimous vote, Sheryl Neal was chosen for president. Lori Sawyer is vice president and -Tori Limb is secretary. They will be in charge of the girls' athletic functions and they will arrange the athletic banquet. award and Jared Wallace received his Faith in God award. Mr. and Mrs. Rae Goodrich returned return-ed Friday from McGraff, Canada where they visited the Gary Stringham family.
