Show Davis wrestling clinic set KAYSVTLLE Registration and practice is set to begin for the annual Davis High School junior wrestling clinic. The clinic, conducted con-ducted by Davis High wrestling coaches Alan Porter and Wes Roach, is geared for athletes grades 2 through 9. Parents who feel their first grade athletes are ready for the program are also encouraged to enroll their children. Enrollment is slated for Feb. 5. between 4 and 6 p.m. in the fieldhouse at Davis High School. Practice for athletes grades 2-5 will begin Feb. 5 and continue each Tuesday for six weeks from 5-6 p.m. Athletes grades 6-9 will also practice between 6 and 7 p.m. each Tuesday beginning Feb. 5. The six-week course includes instruction and a T-shirt for a fee of $20. A post-clinic tournament at the end of the six-week period will exact a fee of $1 per individual competitor to pay for individual medals. Former Davis High wrestler Max Cloward will assist with the coaching, as will a number of current Dart wrestlers including Jason Robinson, 1991 region champion. The clinic will prepare young wrestlers for a series of meets throughout the state. Davis High will host one such tournament March Mar-ch 7. i t i , , . |
