Show Doqs n Stuff helps handicapped people, and hopefully in time other training sites can be established, said Nelson. "We would like to encourage the community to patronize Dogs n QBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBrfBJHHBBBBBBBBiBBHBBBBBBHBHBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB Stuff, where they will not only receive the best chili dog in the county, but help provide employment employ-ment opportunities for persons with disabilities," she said. LAYTON A hot dog stand where mentally handicapped are trained and employed has opened for business in the parking lot of the Layton ShopKo. Dogs n Stuff is unique because it provides a work place where disabled people can receive employment training with the aid of an employment training specialist or "job coach," said Marae Nelson, publicity chairwoman chair-woman for the Association for Retarded Citizens. The program utilizes a training method in which an employment training specialist learns each task involved with the job and then trains the individual to do that job, said Nelson. Upon completion of their training, these individuals will move on to other jobs in the community com-munity where they can use the skills they learned, she added. The employment training specialist will go with the mentally disabled person to the new job site to assist them and their new employer with any additional training train-ing required As the individual learns his job, the employment training specialist will slowly fade (torn the job site until full independence in-dependence is achieved, said Nelson. 2 Funding for Dogs n Stuff is pro-tided pro-tided by ARC DavisWeber.
