Show History Fair slated By JAIME HARMS CentervMe Jr. High Student Reporter The eighth and ninth grade students at CJH have been working very hard for the History Fair, which will be held at the school Jan. 30. The judging will take place between be-tween 3:30-5:30 p.m. After the judging, the parents and public are welcome to come between 6:30-7:30 p.m. to look at the students' displays. This will be held in the school's cafeteria. This year's theme is "The Rights in History." This theme was picked so that the youth may clearly understand the civil, and animal rights movements, and the problems that have been solved over the past years. Not only have they learned of the problems that have been solved, they are learning of problems that are still needing to be solved. The students had four categories to choose from: a report, display, a skit, or a media presentation. The students work will be judged based on the creativity, information, nearness and clearness of what they are trying to portray about their topic. Those who win the school's competition, will later go to Weber State University to compete in the District History Fair. From there the winners may go to the State competition com-petition at BYU. Later on, the winners may travel to Washington, D.C. in June, and compete in the Nationals. Last year a group went to the Nationals. It would be neat if another group may go this year. |
