Show Boundary list made SUNSET The Davis County Board of Education developed a list of purposes and general guidelines to allow for a smooth transition for the County's future high school students. They included: New boundaries must optimize op-timize the use of all affected high schools without exceeding the extended ex-tended capacity calculated for each school. The adopted plan must allow for an easy transition to a fourth Northern high school, should one be needed The adopted plan must allow for the possibility of relieving enrollment growth at Davis High School, should growth exceed extended ex-tended capacity. New boundaries should enhance the diversity of the student population in each school. Indicators In-dicators of diversity might include ethnic background and socioeconomic socio-economic status. The adopted plan must consider con-sider geographic and man-made boundaries (highways, railroads, etc.) and minimize factors that might pose a risk to student safety. New attendance areas must consider the costs associated with the change and minimize additional expenditures wherever possible. The adopted plan must present the best mix of benefits to the greatest number of students affected by the proposed change. |
