Show Agreement extended CENTERVILLE The City Council has voted to extend for one year its agreement with Davis County Animal Control Services, subject to a 12.5 percent decrease in the fee for the services. The new agreement calls for an annual fee of $9,384.90, or $782.07 per month. That compares with last year's fee of $10,725, or $893.80 per month. The change reflects a similar reduction offered throughout the county for animal control services. Council members also approved an ordinance for recovery of costs of fires intentionally caused or caused by gross negligence. Though similar ordinances by other members of the South Davis Fire District had been passed, this latest action ended a long-standing debate on the ordinance in Centerville. In other council action, a public hearing on the City's application for Community Development Block Grant money (CDBG) produced no opposition to the City's request for $217,000. Should Centerville be given that amount, the City would match it with $100,000 in City funds for improvements at the Recreation Complex Park. Among those improvements would be development of a lake and pump station, materials for an irrigation ir-rigation system, hydro seeding of 23 acres; concessionaire, score keeper and restrooms for a ball park, and concrete paving and spectator spec-tator areas. Centerville joins with a host of other Davis County cities and entities enti-ties in requesting CDBG money, including in-cluding Bountiful, West Bountiful, Farmington, North Salt Lake and Woods Cross. 4 |
