Show The Red Balloon7 exhibit In conjunction with the illustration illustra-tion show, "The Friend, Show and Tell," currently on exhibit, the BountifulDavis Art Center will show the video, "The Red Balloon, Tuesday, Oct 9, 4-5 p.m. for children and adults of all ages. A free red balloon, courtesy of The Perfect Party in Colonial Square, will be given to each child to take home. "The Red Balloon is a film written and directed by Albert Lamorisse. When it was first released in 1956, the film was awarded Best Film of the Decade by the American Film Festival, the Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival Fes-tival and Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards. It is the story of Pascal, a lonely French boy who befriends a wondrous won-drous red balloon which follows him everywhere to school and to church and even hovers outside his upstairs bedroom window when he is in there. The 34-minute film is a fantasy surrounding the powers of love and friendship. Copies of the storybook which contains photographs from the film will be available for sale after the show.
