Show Governor welcomes ESKAY Gov. Norman H. Bangerter welcomed the announcement of a new joint partnership among two Utah interests and the Japanese firm, Daifuku USA Inc. The partnership creates a new Bountiful-based firm called ESKAY Corporation. The Governor visited the Tokyo, Japan headquarters of Daifuku Co., Ltd. during his recent economic development trip to the Orient. During the visit Susumu Ito, managing director di-rector of Daifuku, briefed Gov. Bangerter on the joint venture ven-ture and its potential impact on the Utah economy. ' 'The initial presence of ESKAY Corporation will seem small, but their plans for the next few years should see ESKAY become a significant Utah employer, and a major exporter of goods," stated the Governor. ESKAY will offer a full range of automated storage and retrieval systems. The ESKAY corporate offices will be located at 563 W. 500 S., in Bountiful. Gov. Bangerter praised Daifuku and partners Dean Jolley and James AUred for creating what appears to be 'a promising promis-ing growth company. Daifuku is currently the world's largest producer of automated storage and retrieval systems, with $700 million in 1989 sales. James Allred was a co-founder of Eaton- Kenway and has extensive experience in manufacturing automation. Dean Jolley is president of Auto-Soft Corporation, Corpora-tion, a Utah-based software company. |
