I DATC enrollment grows j BY KEVIN CUMMINGS ! In its meeting on August 28, the Davis Applied Technology Center Board learned that student enrollment enroll-ment is increasing. High school enrollment for the 1990-91 school year is up by approximately 34. The enrollment in health occupa- tions has risen by nearly 1 00 r students this year. " In other business, the board heard a report from Jan Dickson, the new Utah State Office of Education liai son to the DATC. Dickson reported on a recent meeting conference involving in-volving a consortium of nine Utah school districts charged with developing de-veloping and implementing innovative in-novative vocational -technological programs. Other board actions included: Dr. Kent Worthington, Regional Vocational Director, reported that many recent publications publica-tions indicate the need for quality vocational -technical training in the United States. Jack Shell, DATC Director, reported on the DATC's Building Block request. Currently $636,000 in funds have been approved for the 92 DATC Building Blocks. The DATC Administration reported its goals for the 1990-91 school year. These included the development de-velopment of a 10-year strategic plan, a complete review of the accreditation ac-creditation report, completion of all activities involved in the DATC's name change by June '91, and the implementation of the activities outlined in the public relations plan. |
