Show Reflections contest winner South Davis Junior High School student, Justin Kunz, was honored May 1 2 at a State PTA luncheon at the BYU Wilkinson Center Ballroom. Justin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Kunz of Bountiful, was recently named first place winner for literature in the junior high division divi-sion in the state PTA Reflections Contest. The PTA Reflections theme this year was, "Where does the sky end?" Justin's short story entry is entitled "The End of the Endless Sky" and is about a boy who, like Justin himself, loves to draw fantasy fan-tasy characters, and whose characters actually come to life in a spectacular dream. Also an accomplished ac-complished artist, Justin illustrated his own story. Justin has served as the school artist ar-tist and photographer at South Davis Junior High School this past year, designing the yearbook cover, T-shirt logo for the basketball camp, and has also done artwork for activities at Woods Cross and Bountiful high schools. Some of his other interests include in-clude music (he won a "Superior" rating in the District Solo and Ensemble Festival for his tenor saxophone solo), and soccer. A high JUSTIN KUNZ honor student, Justin has earned the Presidential Academic Fitness Award this year, maintaining a GPA of 3.94. Justin's winning story was chosen from more than 2,000 entries en-tries statewide and has been sent to the National PTA Reflections competition. com-petition. National winners will be announced in June. Justin will be a sophomore at Woods Cross High School next fall. |
