Show Chapel to be dedicated at Veterans Memorial Park By SCOTT SUMMERILL The finishing touches are being put on the chapel and administrative buildings at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park to prepare them for dedication this Memorial Day, May 28. The keynote speaker at the dedication ceremony will Lt. Gen. Brent Scowcroft, a Utah native who is currently serving as assistant to President George Bush for National Security Affairs. "We are pleased with the progress pro-gress of construction at the Memorial Park, and delighted that Gen. Scowcroft has been able to arrange ar-range to be at our Memorial Day dedication program," said chairman chair-man of the Utah Military and Veterans Vet-erans Affairs Committee' (UM-VAC) (UM-VAC) Capt. R. Dawson Simpson, USNR, Retired. UMVAC has been the driving force for funding of the Memorial Park, which is located at the northeast nor-theast corner of Camp Williams adjacent ad-jacent to Redwood Road. The park will provide an honored burial place for some 20,000 Utah veterans and their spouses. The chapel was designed by Kevin Scholz of Springville, who donated his talents to the project in honor of his father who was killed in action during the Korean conflict. con-flict. Scholz has incorporated an impressive im-pressive five-story height to the chapel, as well as many other unique characteristics that he believes will make the structure one of the state's most outstanding man-made man-made landmarks.
