Show Kin of Brigham Young to meet for birthday celebration Descendants of Brigham Young will gather on June 1 to celebrate the pioneer's birthday. Bountiful businessman George Cannon Young, president of the Br-ingham Br-ingham Young Family Association is busily planning the upcoming Brigham Young Birthday Party. The events will begin with a brief service at 6 p.m. at the gravesite on 1st Avenue on the east side of State Street. Dr. Clark Young, a great grandson, grand-son, age 94, will speak briefly about BrighanVs life. A wreath will be placed on the grave by George's children, Angelique and Tuler Young. The graveside service will be followed by a dinner at 7:30 p.m. at the Alumni House at the University of Utah. Keynote speaker at the dinner will be Elder Yoshihiko Kikuchi of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The public is invited to attend the annual event. Cannon, who is a broker associate with The Prudential Pruden-tial Canyon Oaks Real Estate Co., said he is excited about the upcoming upcom-ing event. "Every year we gather together with many of Brigham Young's ancestors. It's a great time to renew acquaintances, and exchange stories," he said. |
