Show Tiqers spread holiday cheer December was a busy month at Tolman Elementary. The fifth and sixth grade chorus spread the holiday spirit when they sang at nursing homes and at Lavton Hills Mall. Parents and friends were serenaded at a special Christmas open house and fellow classmates heard the carols at an assembly just for them. A special thanks to Edith Barker, director and accompanist, Claudia Thomas. This year Tolman Tigers joined forces with KSL and Quarters for Christmas. They raised $75, and four school representatives presented the money to personalities per-sonalities on the air at KSL radio station. Tolman Tigers have a school song. Scott and Karen, along with their mother, Lauri Hutchinson wrote the lyrics as well as the music to "At Tolman." Now students and teachers will have an anthem to sing at the monthly spirit day, where the entire school gathers for a flag ceremony to help create unity at Tolman. In January students learn to be creative as they are encouraged to participate in the reflections contest "Where Does the Sky End?" Entries En-tries in literature, music, photography photogra-phy and visual arts give all students a chance to develop talents to share statewide. |
