Show Moon to celebrate 82nd birthday Herald Moon will celebrate his 82nd birthday this August. He is probably one of the oldest living Davis High School alumni. It was once written of a young defensive guard who played for the Davis Darts, "...Moon, a tower of strength for Davis." Though 64 years have passed since he walked the halls of Davis as a student and football hero, he continues to be a tower of strength and support to others who have walked those same haUs. A long line of tradition follows Moon. He settled in Farmington, where he raised eight children, all of whom graduated from Davis. Three of those married children have had the good fortune of watching wat-ching with their father as five of Herald Moon is surrounded by three of his granddaughters. They are Jenny Hill, Denise Green and Stephanie Moon. Moon will be celebrating his 82nd birthday in August. their children walked those same halls. Now they watch with pride as three more graduate with the class of 1992. They are Denise Green, daughter of Richard and Merry Green, Fruit Heights; Stephanie Moon, daughter of Stephen and Pat Moon, Farmington; and Jenny Hill, daughter of Rodney and Linda Hill, Kaysville. It will be a triple celebration for Jenny ' s family this year. Her brother, Jim will attend his 10-year class reunion. Jim was a class officer offi-cer for the class of 1982. Their father will attend his 30-year class reunion. Rod was senior class president in 1962. Family members agree that it has been interesting to see the changes that have taken place over the years. They expect that the next generation genera-tion will bring even more changes and continue the pride they feel for the ' brown and gold" of Davis High. |
