Show West Bountiful OK's greens, and golf course seeding By JENNIFER PETERSON Staff Writer WEST BOUNTIFUL The City Council voted unanimously to approve the low bid by Millcreek Gardens for the final greens construction, finishing and O seeding on the golf course expansion. Earl Kemp, chief engineer for Forsgren Company, suggesfed to the council that they accept the low bid of $588,600 by Millcreek Gardens because of its vast experience ex-perience and good reputation. There were three responsive bids to the project, OECemp explained, and Millcreek Gardens came in with iie lowest bid and has perhaps the most course experience experi-ence including work on the Mountain Delle Golf Course expansion, Murray Golf Course, Salt Lake Country Club course, Jeremy Ranch, Blue Lakes Country Coun-try Club course in Idaho Falls and Westridge in West Valley City. "We've worked with Millcreek Gardens before and they're very good contractors. We've never had any problems before with them," Kemp said. The course expansion project was budgeted at $1.1 million, Kemp said, plus $200,000 for improvements to the existing course. By accepting this bid, and barring any unforeseen obstacles, the project should be completed com-pleted below budget, he said. Depending upon the seeding date and the weather next fall and winter, golfers are expected to be able to tee off anywhere between March and June 1993. |
