Show -J STATE CHAMPS: Bountiful celebrates after defeating Taylorsville 9-4 for the AA state title. Bountiful wins state AA hockey crown SALT LAKE CITY After defeating Taylorsville 8-0 Wednesday night, the Bountiful Braves defeated them again Thursday night for the State AA Championship. After Wednesday ' s defeat, Taylorsville came out prepared for a fight They scored first, but it was answered by Bountiful's Jared Poulson. Twice more they scored and each time Poulson slapped one in. With the score 3-3, Loren Budge got a "go ahead" goal for the Braves. However, Taylorsville scored one final I goal, bringing it to 4-4. Then, Poulson helped break things loose with his fourth goal, and Mike Norman brought it to 6-4. Poulson added two more and defenseman Kirt Peterson one to make it 9-4. "I think the reason we were able to take state and go this far is that the kids started playing together as a team," said coach Mike Holmes. 4 'They pulled together to make it happen." Assisting in the coaching were F.W. Mortensen and Roy Van Orman. Accepting the trophy for Bountiful High was Loren 1 Budge, captain. His assistant captains are Steve Davis and Grant Golightly. Suited up for the game were the offense: Dave Bigelow, Chad Burgoyne, Steve Davis, Ryan Facer, Rick Holbrook, Lund, Jared Poulson, Rhett Roberts, ' Richard Matern, Mike Norman and Todd Wilson. On defense were: Loren Budge, Brad Larsen, Wayne Mower, Kirt Peterson, Lyle Van Orman, Trevin Wallin and Chad Melby. Greg Mortensen was goalee. Other members not suited up were: Jared Sweet, Brad Watts, Grant Stewart, Brian Kilpatrick and Scott Radmall.
