Show Vike coach wins award For the second consecutive year, Viewmont High basketball coach Clyde Nelson has been recognized as Coach of the Year by the Utah Coaches Association. "It comes from peers and coaches you coach against, said Nelson. "So it gives it some meaning." Nelson led the Vikings to a state-best 23-1 record during the recent hoop campaign which included a third-place finish in the 4A state tournament Nelson credits his players and assistants for making the Viking program the success it is. "The kids have got a way to make you look good, he said. "I have three good assistants. We've done nothing unique. I've been doing the same thing the last few years. It comes down to kids that know how to win. As coaches, we just throw in our two bits to help. ' ' |
