Most of the time computer users don't have the tools that will allow them to make their work easier. But now, there's a file management system that allows you to do just that. File Director from Fifth Generation Genera-tion Systems is a utility that gives you control over DOS functions and lets you perform most of the DOS commands easily and quickly. In one step you can perform the basic DOS commands like "Copy" or "Delete." File Director also goes beyond DOS capabilities and allows you to copy a directory, a directory tree or even an entire drive. You can copy files from any directory to any other directory instantly, just by typing the command. File Director is a disk manager utility. Its Global and Identical file feature allows you to clear unwanted un-wanted files when you're ready to do some computer housekeeping. In addition, File Director functions func-tions as a lost and found department when you know you have a file but can't remember its name or where it is in the directory tree. File Director's Direc-tor's Search command allows you to find the location of a file when all you can remember is one word from the file. As it searches, it marks each file that has the key word you're looking for. In text files, this is an easy way to round up all files on a particular subject. For automated operations, File Director's Macro feature lets you set up macros to perform any function func-tion you need, like backup files, delete old files, print files and so forth. Not only can experienced computer users work more quickly, but new users can be trained more easily. They can learn just one keystroke function instead of a whole series. Its Options menu lets, you customize applications and utility programs so they can be executed from the main screen. The most useful feature of File Director is that you can see into your computer files like never before. You can scroll though a directory di-rectory listing and see the actual contents of each file in a separate window or browse through a complete com-plete directory tree and see all the files in each directory, side-by-side. This feature works well on Lotus, D Base files and Word Perfect. File Director is easy to install. It comes with a very good manual that makes using File Director easy.
