Show PALS starts new group at MPJH By ABI SABALA Student Reporter The PALS (Panthers Against Lethal Substances) at Mueller Park Junior High, have started a new group called the Conflict Management Team. The PALS started this group to give students the ability to solve problems by themselves and to communicate with each other more freely. The Conflict Management Team was started with help from Lezlie Kelley, a lawyer, who taught the PALS for a total of five hours. The other advisors tor the PALS are Mrs. Thurgood and Ms. Hutchinson. Any student involved in a conflict can go to the Conflict Con-flict Management Team instead of going to Mr. Mangle. The Conflict Management Team was started this year. Mrs. Thurgood feels that this project will be successful because there are good people in the conflict management team that are willing to do a good job. The PALS enjoy it because of the field trips and because they get to get out of class. Other activities the PALS will be doing this year are going to the prison, Santa aid. (he friendship club and skits. MPJ looks forward to seeing how the Conflict Management Team will work out. |
