'Southwest' display donated to art center The BountifulDavis Art Center is pleased to announce the opening open-ing of its new gift shop. The art center's gift shop has been located in the Anna R. Spiess Gallery and will continue to be located there. The difference will be the "old Southwest" style pine logs where the gifts will be displayed. The owner and operator of the Great Western Log Furniture Com-, pany in Coalville, Elden Pace, has donated the entire pine log display to the art center. Mr. Pace says, "We believe in the arts. We consider the work we do here at our shop an art form. We are creative. We work with our hands and our minds and our tools, to create our unique style of furniture; and, therefore, we feel that what we create is art." Mr. Pace began making lodge pole pine fencing in 1982, and now the company creates over ninety styles of fencing and furniture and ships orders all over the continental United States. "We build bedroom bed-room and living room furniture, as well as lawn furniture, and furniture fur-niture for your study or kitchen. We are happy to work with anyone who has their own ideas. We welcome the creativity of our customers and we will work with them as best we can to build what they want,' ' Mr. Pace said. Scott Jensen, director of the art center, says, "We arc very appreciative ap-preciative of Elden and his crew. They have been very easy to work with, and have been very sensitive to our special needs. This has been a difficult display to design and build. We deeply appreciate Elden's willingness to support our Art Center in this manner. As a non-profit organization we have a great appreciation for people who believe in the importance of the arts in our culture, and are willing to go to such great lengths to make much needed contributions." Mr. Jensen enthusiastically invites the community to drop by and see the new gift shop. "We are proud of our art center, and this new gift shop is just an added dimension. Also, we are excited about the many new and beautiful gifts which are on display. Everyone is welcome; come by and see what we've done." |
