Show Zoning change for Lagoon FARMINGTON - Wednesday evening the Farmington City council coun-cil set a public hearing on October 4 at 7 p.m. to consider rezoning 12 acres of property, owned by William Rigby, on the northwest comer of Shepard Lane and U.S. 89 from R-S-20 to Special Use S. The purpose of the zoning change is to allow developers to construct a major commercial development that would include a large retail store, several smaller shops and possibly a fast food outlet The city master plan will be amended to reflect this commercial development should the council approve ap-prove the zoning change at the October Oc-tober 4th meeting. Developers of the property is Sky Properties of Bountiful. They have been involved in the Excel Industrial In-dustrial Park in Centerville, Springwood Apartments in Bountiful Boun-tiful and the UDOT building in Centerville. Permitted uses in the Special Use S zone include offices, business and professional. Conditional uses allow restaurants, business services, demand or shopping goods, gasoline gaso-line services and other related businesses. busi-nesses. Traffic counts indicate U.S. 89 in this area generates 22,500 cars southbound and 19,500 cars northbound north-bound daily. The tentative name for this proposed pro-posed development is "Oakridge Square." |
