Show Plans announced to publish the J new 'Utah Wildlife Viewing Guide' 3 ; Utah state and federal wildlife management officials this week announced an-nounced plans to publish the "Utah Wildlife Viewing Guide,' the first and most vital step in the state's fledgling V'watchable wildlife" program. U.S. -Forest Service spokesman Jim Cole, who will coordinate co-ordinate the project, says the guide will be available to the public by March of next year. ,i The guide is a cooperative venture ven-ture , between the Defenders of Wildlife (a national wildlife conservation con-servation organization), and several government agencies, including the state division of Wildlife Resources and Parks and Recreation, the U.S. Forest Service, the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of ; V Land Management, the Utah Travel Council and the Utah Department of Transportation. The guide will direct wildlife enthusiasts en-thusiasts to dozens of sites across . the state where wildlife may be viewed and photographed in its natural habitat The full-color booklet will include about 100 pages of maps, area descriptions and natural history, as well as interpretive inter-pretive information on wildlife ecology, conservation and management programs to promote a . greater awareness and appreciation of Utah's wildlife. It will also list information specific to each viewing view-ing site, including accessibility, lodging or camping areas, and loca-, tions of viewing blinds and trails. , |
