Representatives are Andy - Bergeson, Ashley Merrill, Casey Bubler, Kimberlee Powers, Tanner Clawson, Cynthia Tate and Principal Talrrtadge Robinson. First graders make pledge The first grade at Oakhills Elementary has pledged to be the smoke-free class of 2000. The children, with support of their parentspledged to not smoke for the duration of their school years and for the rest of their lives. In class, the students learned why smoking is bad for their health. Each child made a poster about "no smoking," which were displayed at school. On field day, which was the Great American Smoke-Out, the youngsters wore their new yellow shirts which were donated by Charter Summit Hospital. These shirts will serve to remind the kids of their pledge to remain smoke-free. smoke-free. , A special thanks goes to Valerie Powers, who spearheaded this project pro-ject and Jennifer Merrill, who works at Charter Summit Hospital. Both are mothers of children in the class of 2000. Teachers at Oakhills who taught the smoke-free lessons were: Mrs. Connelly, Mrs. Jessee, and Mrs. Bigler The principal at Oakhills is Talmadge Robinson. |
