Show Scenic photographer displays nature photos at Lake view Hospital friend, he caught a 60 pound king salmon in the Kenai River. It is also on display at Lakeview with some . of his best photographs of Alaska. Stan recently completed a water color painting class at the BountifulDavis Boun-tifulDavis Art Center offered by accomplished artist Norma Fors-berg. Fors-berg. Three of his watercolors were accepted and are part of the current .Davis County artists exhibit at the .Art Center. I Utah scenic photographer and watercolor artist, Stan Elmer, is currently cur-rently displaying photographic images of Alaska in an exhibit at the lobby of Lakeview Hospital, i Stan, a resident of South Davis 'County for 22 years, is a native of Utah Valley, having grown up in the Payson-Spring Lake-Salem, area. - 5 ; kHe developed a love for the na- tural beauty around him and began, , . photographing scenic wonders at age 14. He and his father, J. Clark Elmer, started taking oil painting classes together when he was in junior ju-nior high. . Hiking, hunting, and fishing were , the primary motivators for his outings, out-ings, but he always took his camera , to capture the beauty of the area he was exploring. j Stan received a bachelor of fine 'arts in architecture from the University Uni-versity of Utah in 1962 and retired from the Utah Department of Na- ' tural Resources after a 25-year career ca-reer of public service in 1987. ; In 1984, Stan enjoyed a month in Alaska, traveling 2500 miles in a rented vehicle for 10 days, flying to many out-of-the-way spots for another an-other 10 days in that remarkable state. ; During that last week with his, |
