Show Elwyn Freeborn Peterson CLEARFIELD - Elwyn Freeborn Free-born Peterson, 77, -died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 1989 iri Provo of cancer. He was born June 14, 1911 in Smithfield, a son of John R and Mary Etna Merrill Peterson. -He married Marjorie Scott May 3, 1939, in the Logan IDS Temple. He was reared in Smithfield and had lived in California for two years, Kenilworth, Utah and Qear-field Qear-field the past 32 years. - He graduated from North Cache High School and the Utah State University. He had worked at Hill Air Force Base for 32 years. v ' - He was an active member of the Clearfield 18 th LDS Ward and f taught in many auxiliaries. He ser-' ser-' vcd as ward clerk. He was active in genealogy research and was an ordinance or-dinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple. . He taught music for S3 years and enjoyed photography, . carpentry, woodworking, reading and history. He was a member of the Intermountain Guitar Society and entertained with many musical groups. , - Surviving are his wife of Clearfield; Clear-field; two daughters, Mrs. James M. (Colleen) Worthen, West Valley City; Mrs. John S. (Jerolyn) Stri-ngharn, Stri-ngharn, Provo; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are twin brother, Edwin M. Peterson, Victor, Ida.; two sisters, Mrs. LeRoi (Margaret) Nelson, Orem; Mrs. Reid (Mary) Tippetts,. Delta. He was" preceded in death by one son, COmen E. Peter- ' son, two brothers and one sister. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Clearfield Mortuary. . ., Bishop Roger H. Mifflin conducted conduc-ted funeral services held Jan. 21. Family prayer was offered by John S. Stringham; prelude, Michael Mi-chael Hastings; "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked' by John S. Stringham, accompanied by Michael Mi-chael Hastings; invocation, Melvin S. Swenson; remarks, Bishop Roger H. Mifflin; obituary reading, JSa- dine Bone; speaker, Colleen P. Worthen; 4 'An Evening Prayer' 'by the Golden Hour v Sing-A-Long, directed by E. Paul Gilgen, accompanied accom-panied by Larry Leavitt; speakers, Mary P. Tippetts and Hart Reid; guitar selection, "Adelita-Lagrima" "Adelita-Lagrima" by Lamar Eskelson, comp. Tarrega; speaker, Janice S. LeFevre; dosing hymn, "God Be With You Til We Meet Again" by congregation; benediction, Scott M. Stringham. Dedication of the grave was by Brian J.
