Show 6Guys and Dolls' at Davis High j "Guys and Dolls" - the musical fable of Broadway (by Damon Runyon, Frank Loesser, Abe Burrows Bur-rows and Jo Swerling) will be playing play-ing at Davis High School Jan. 13, 14, 16, and 17. Curtain time is 7:30. . ; Tickets are $3 for adults, $2 for students stu-dents and children, and $12 for a family. "Guys and polls" is under the direction of Mrs. Laurie Storey, with' .-musical assistance from Ms, Becky Jarman. . This is a story of gamblers, showgirls, and marching street crusaders cru-saders out to save the collective soul of the city from the certain col- lective condemnation it is asking for. The story concerns itself with Nathan Detroit (Jon King), his assistants: as-sistants: Benny Southstreet (Nathan Peck), Rusty Charlie (Chris Snell) and Nicely-Nkxly Johnson (Anthony (Antho-ny Taylor) and their attempts to round up customers (Big Jule played by Bryon Bowers and Harry the Horse played by Gavin Duckworth) Duck-worth) for Nathan's floating crap gamewhich is currendy in floating - somewhere', between the Biltmore Garage, owned by Joey Biltmore (Scott Murphy) and limbo. Nathan's Nath-an's perpetual fiance, Adelaide (Sandy Smith) is desperately trying .to entwine Nathan in her apron strings. However, Nathan is too j busy running from the long arm of LL Brannigan (Mike Miller) New York Police Department, Skye Masterson (Erik Hicken-looper), Hicken-looper), who derives his name from the fact that his limit in gambling is sky-high, arrives in town and quickly falls in love with lovely Sgt Sarah Brown (Aimce Tremea) of the Save-A-Soul Mission, much to the delight of her loveable Uncle Arvide (Bradcn Bell). Chaos ensues and the police and General Cartwright, commanding officer of the Save-A-Soul Mission - -(Debbie Pincock) are all called in. Out of the chaos develops friendship, friend-ship, love and marriage. |
